A Smithfield man is recovering from injuries after allegedly being cut with a knife in the parking lot of Wal-Mart at 5141 Highway 42 West.
Johnston County deputies said the incident happened just before 7:00pm Thursday. The 31 year-old victim was driven by a personal vehicle to the hospital for treatment.
The victim sustained serious but non-life threatening cuts to his hand. Deputies have obtained warrants for a suspect in the case and said Friday an arrest was pending. Officials believe the incident may have been domestic related and was not a random incident.
