Police said a woman pushing a two year-old in a stroller was responsible for shoplifting incidents at three businesses Tuesday afternoon.
Officers were called to the Adidas Outlet, Rue 21 and Children’s Place just after 1:00 pm yesterday after the suspect allegedly entered all three businesses, used wire cutters to remove anti-theft devices from merchandise then leave with the items.
Police Chief R.K. Powell said all the stolen merchandise was recovered from the suspect’s vehicle parked nearby.
Latoya Bianca O’Neal, 26, of Gatewick Court, Clayton was charged with misdemeanor larceny, felony larceny by removing an anti-theft device, and misdemeanor child abuse. O’Neal was transported to the Johnston County Jail where her bond was set at $25,000.
The stolen merchandise, valued at $268.89, was returned by police to the three businesses.
