Duke Energy continues to restore power to homes and businesses in Johnston County. At the peak of the storm, an estimated 32,000 customers were without electrical service.
As of 2:30pm Tuesday, Duke Energy reported 10,436 customers were without service. Additional personnel from out-of-state have been brought in to assist with restoration efforts.
Two public school buildings in Johnston County were still without power Tuesday afternoon.
In Smithfield, electrical crews were busy on Tuesday restoring power to individual homes and businesses. Complete power to the Town was restored around midnight Sunday but some customers could not have power restored until damaged electrical equipment at their homes were repaired.
